WORLD BREAKFAST ALLDAY will be offering a limited-time "British Breakfast" (1,500 yen) from November 1st to December 28th.
This time, they will be serving the "full breakfast," a traditional British breakfast so rich that British novelist Somerset Maugham once said, "If you want to eat well in England, eat breakfast three times a day." Originally a breakfast for the aristocracy, it became popular around the time of the Industrial Revolution as a breakfast for workers who had to work hard all day. Nowadays, it is mainly eaten on leisurely weekend mornings, and cafes and pubs are now serving it any time of the day, not just for breakfast. While the full breakfast has been featured as a standard breakfast in the past, World Breakfast All Day will also feature "Porridge" (1,000 yen), a warm porridge made with boiled oats, primarily eaten in Scotland, and will be reintroducing British breakfasts in November and December. Classic dishes like baked beans (haricot verts simmered in tomato sauce), scrambled eggs, soft flour sausages, deep-fried bread and potato hash browns, and tomatoes and mushrooms, which were traditionally cooked due to hygiene reasons at the time, are all served on a single plate. Also popular during the colder months is "Porridge," a warm porridge made by simmering pinhead oats, cut into two or three pieces. It is served with a fruit stew, grated apples, and nuts, and topped with golden syrup and cinnamon, popular in the UK. A variety of traditional British drinks and sweets will also be available. During the event, events such as workshops related to the UK will also be held, and in November "American breakfast (pancakes)" will be served as a standard breakfast menu item.
