An exhibition on "color" by German jeweler Niessing. A talk event with Hiroshi Eguchi and others.

Oct 28, 2016

German contemporary jewelry brand Niessing will hold an exhibition titled "COLORS OF NIESSING" at Niessing Tokyo in Aoyama, Tokyo, from October 26th to November 8th.
Niessing is a German contemporary jewelry brand that embodies "modern" jewelry. Its designs, inspired by the Bauhaus school of design, pursue ultimate simplicity by eliminating all unnecessary elements. Furthermore, its extensive range of colored gold and the metallurgy (technique for blending metals) that produces them are among the best in the world, earning the brand the nickname "Gold Magician."
This exhibition, held in conjunction with the autumn design event, will showcase Niessing's signature color variations. The exhibition will feature the brand's new "Performance Color" collection, showcasing Niessing's design philosophy and the world of colorful colors. "Performance Color" becomes a unique design when worn, and its wearer will appreciate its aging over time. It evokes a connection with the Japanese spirit of "wabi-sabi."

In addition, to coincide with the exhibition, two events will be held on the theme of "color." On October 29th at 5pm, there will be a talk show on the theme of "color" featuring Hiroshi Eguchi, former representative of the bookshop UTRECHT, Eizo Okada, design director (S&O DESIGN Co., Ltd.), and architect Hideyuki Nakayama (first 40 people). On November 6th at 1pm and 5pm, there will be a talk and fresh confectionery demonstration by Shiho Sakamoto, a world-renowned Japanese confectioner (first 20 people each; the second part will be a demonstration only).
