
On April 29th, the Jil Sander Group appointed Rodolfo Paralunga as the new creative director of Jil Sander. His first collection will be shown at Spring/Summer 2015 Women's Fashion Week.
Paralunga is from Italy and began his career at Romeo Gigli. He joined Prada in 1996 as women's wear design director. In 2009, he was appointed creative director of Vionnet.
Alessandro Cremonesi, CEO of the Jil Sander Group, said of Paralunga, "I am convinced that he is a talented individual who will raise the bar of (the brand's) creativity. His refined approach will enhance the brand's value and continue to inject further innovation and modernity into the brand's assets."
Paralunga commented, "I have had an immense admiration for this brand. I want to further promote the fusion of sophistication, luxury, and innovation and lead the brand to a higher level."
The brand's founding designer, Jil Sander, announced her resignation for the third time during the 2014 Spring/Summer season. For the 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter season, the design team presented the collection.
