NOMA, a restaurant from Copenhagen, Denmark, which was ranked number one in the "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" list by British magazine Restaurant, will open for a limited time from January 9th to 31st, 2015, at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
During this period, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo will close its French fine dining restaurant, Signature, on the 37th floor of the hotel and operate as Noma. Chef Rene Redzepi will be taking a leave of absence from Noma in his home country and coming to Japan with his entire kitchen staff. Redzepi has a strong interest in Japanese cuisine, and his goal was to offer original dishes using the finest Japanese ingredients.
Reservations will be accepted via the website from June 23rd. The "Noma at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo" accommodation package for two people including dinner (Mandarin Grand Room from 149,000 yen, Suite Room from 210,500 yen) can be booked on the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo official website. Lunch and dinner (both 39,000 yen, dinner only has a limited number of seats) are sold exclusively on Noma's official website.
Established in 2003, Noma is a Nordic restaurant located in a renovated 18th-century warehouse on Copenhagen's coastline. It serves dishes made with local ingredients and presented in a wild style. It has been ranked number one in the "World's Best Restaurants" list four times.
