Mandarin Oriental Tokyo to host Yohji Yamamoto's "Discord" installation on the top floor

Apr 22, 2014

The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, located in Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, will host an installation featuring discord, a new accessory brand by Yohji Yamamoto, which was announced at Nipponista, from April 26th through June 8th. This is the hotel's first collaboration with a fashion brand.

The hotel's top floor, the 38th floor lobby, will be transformed into a runway, showcasing bags, shoes, and scarves from Discord's debut Fall/Winter 2014 pre-collection. Additionally, the first 400 guests to order a course menu at Signature, the French restaurant on the 37th floor, will receive a special Discord gift during the event.

In 2006, the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo became the first hotel in the world to receive a six-star rating from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. Since then, the hotel has continued to receive awards and has been ranked number one in various global rankings. The hotel has a Japanese feel with a motif of "forest and water = Japanese nature," and is a spacious, open-plan space. In addition to 178 rooms, it also has 11 dining facilities, a spa, a chapel, and more.
