Flying Tiger expands into Kyoto, targeting tourists

Mar 3, 2014

Flying Tiger Copenhagen, a lifestyle goods store operated by Zebra Japan, will open its first Kyoto store in the Kyoto BAL ANNEX (tentative name) (59 Daikokucho, Kawaramachi-dori Sanjo-sagaru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City). Kyoto BAL ANNEX (tentative name) faces Kawaramachi Street, the city's central district, and is surrounded by numerous department stores and commercial facilities. Kyoto, home to numerous historical buildings and attracting tourists from around the world, including Japan and Asia, decided to open the store with the aim of becoming a new information hub. It aims to be a shopping spot that can be enjoyed not only by local residents but also by travelers with limited time. Flying Tiger Copenhagen, founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995, currently operates over 290 stores (as of March 1) in 20 countries worldwide, primarily in Europe. The one-way shopping store will sell hundreds of Scandinavian design items at reasonable prices every month. In Japan, the store will be located in Americamura, Osaka; Omotesando, Tokyo; LaLaport Tokyo Bay, Chiba; and Kuzuha Mall, Osaka (scheduled to open in mid-April).
