Danish rainwear brand RAINS will begin full-scale expansion into Japan in 2014. In March, they will hold an event at Hankyu Men's Osaka, and sales will begin at department stores and select shops nationwide.
The brand was founded in Denmark in 2012. Soon after its launch, it began selling at select shops such as Colette and Merci in Paris and You Must Create in London, and in 2014, they decided to expand into Asia.
Items feature a minimalist, Scandinavian design with an urban flair. The outer fabric is 100% polyurethane, and the lining is 100% polyester. Promotions will emphasize visual imagery in advertising and other media, aiming to revamp the image of rainwear as a "convenient and practical item."
The lineup includes a long coat (15,500 yen), a curved jacket (14,000 yen), and an anorak (11,500 yen).
