An event for Christina Kim's limited-edition collection "White Wave," by dosa, will kick off on May 23rd on the 6th floor of Dover Street Market Ginza. Kim launched the all-white collection, saying, "White is both complete and empty. I designed in white to express simplicity and ambiguity." While reading "Die Skulpture," a book by American abstract expressionist painter and sculptor Cy Twombly, Kim hand-embroidered the underlined passages and page numbers in the book using the colors that appear in the book. Each piece features a different quote, making it a one-of-a-kind piece. The clothes rack, made from recycled, unplaned wood painted white, was crafted by Los Angeles-based architect Lindon Schultz. The background will be a wall decorated with a random collage of 700 white photographs selected from a record Kim has taken over the course of a year. Used golf balls that had been discarded near her home will be lined up on the floor, creating a white gradient space together with the collection and the walls.

Dosa was launched by Kim in 1983, after learning textile design at a menswear company. The following year, he founded the brand with his mother, Vivian, and after a period in New York, moved to its current base in Los Angeles in 1994. Incorporating the traditional beauty and techniques he encountered while traveling around the world, he continues to present unique designs that emphasize recycled and organic materials.
