A farewell ceremony for the late Kazuo Hosokawa, founder of the Java Group, will be held at Portopia Hotel on February 13th.

A farewell ceremony for Kazuo Hosokawa, founder and chairman of the Java Group, who passed away on December 21st of last year, will be held on February 13th at the Kobe Portopia Hotel. The event will run from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
Hosokawa was born in 1941 in Minami-Awaji City. He founded the company privately in Kobe in 1964 and changed the company name to Java in 1970. He founded Bebe in 1971 and spun off Lautréamont, Vicky, and Ketty in 1980, achieving rapid growth at a rate of 20% annually. In 1984, the company's 20th anniversary, it completed construction of its headquarters building on Kobe Port Island. It absorbed Lipstar in 1985 and established Java Holdings in 2006. He was awarded the Dark Blue Ribbon Medal in 2010 and served as a director of the Kobe Fashion Association until March 2012.
