"Fashion is...," a limited-time pop-up event bringing together up-and-coming Tokyo brands like Lulu Rogetta, Muller of Yoshiokubo, and Rekisami, kicked off at Isetan Shinjuku on January 23rd. The theme was "What is fashion?" The event, strongly inspired by the "Mode Floor" that was created on the third floor of the main building following a remodel on December 5th, aims to reaffirm the joy of fashion and mode. This event is the third installment of Isetan's original "STORE JAPAN" series, which focuses on the themes of "Japanese power" and "Japanese technology." Tokyo brands with a strong commitment to craftsmanship and styling were selected, and the venue displayed messages from participating designers answering the question, "What is fashion?", creating a space where mode can be experienced through words. The event will be held over two weeks, with Part 1 (January 23rd to January 29th) and Part 2 (January 30th to February 5th), and a total of 13 brands will be participating. Starting on January 23rd, seven popular brands from Re-Style will appear, including Lulu Rogetta, Muller of Yoshiokubo, Rekisami, and Pippi. Starting on January 30th, more modern brands such as Color, TOGA, FACETASM, and ANREALAGE will be appearing. The venue will feature new spring/summer collections from each brand. FACETASM designer Hiromichi Ochiai, who will be appearing on January 30th, said, "We can showcase all our new products at once, which makes it easier to convey our worldview. We will be using mannequins to recreate the hair and makeup from the Tokyo Collection show, so I think we can more directly convey the worldview that FACETASM pursues."
