Minä Perhonen will open a new store with a cafe called "call" in July, offering "things that we feel comfortable having in our lives right now."

Jun 27, 2016

On July 15th, mina perhonen will open a new store on the fifth floor of Spiral, a cultural complex in Minami-Aoyama. The name "Call" carries two meanings: "A place to showcase the things we've gathered, as if summoning them to us, and a place to create and showcase things together with the many friends we've met along the way = creation-all." The "collected" items include items from all over Japan and overseas, both new and old, that mina perhonen believes would be comfortable in our lives today. From overseas, the store will feature eyeglasses handcrafted by a unique optician in Venice; cutting boards carved from olive wood from Tuscany; and Richard Ginori tableware, individually painted by skilled artisans. Additionally, a wooden canoe crafted using traditional methods from Potsdam, Germany will also be on display. From within Japan, items will include Ryuji Mitani's art and lifestyle tools and Kazumi Tsuji's glass chandeliers. Minä Perhonen will be stocking adult and children's clothing, interior fabrics, as well as children's clothing with simple patterns.

A small cafe called "House and Garden" will also be opening in one corner of the store. The space seats about 16 people and has an attached terrace deck where a pleasant breeze can pass through. Based on the concept of "food made with someone in mind," the cafe will serve meals such as soups of the day, as well as coffee, tea, and alcohol. The store is open from 11:00 to 20:00 (last orders at the cafe are at 19:30).
