Marni collaborates with 400-year-old Arita ware to release tableware collection featuring archive patterns

Apr 27, 2016

MARNI is releasing a tableware collection in collaboration with Arita ware, which celebrates its 400th anniversary this year.

This collection was created to celebrate the opening of Marni Flower Cafe, the world's first cafe at MARNI, which opened on the third floor of the Hankyu Umeda main store in March. The tableware, which can actually be used for dining at the cafe, was created in collaboration with Arita ware artisans, with original patterns and shapes. To beautifully express MARNI's patterns, the tableware is made using a method rarely seen in other Arita ware, combining pattern transfer and painting techniques.

The lineup includes a teapot (15,900 yen), teacup and saucer (15,500 yen), coffee cup and saucer (11,200 yen), bowl (7,500 yen), and plate (large 7,500 yen, small 4,800 yen).

This is the first in a series, with plans to expand it further.
