Get beautiful legs that look great in boots and heels! Get used to self-massaging each part of your body with the Beauty Method

Aug 30, 2016
Summer is almost over. As the heat gradually subsides and we move towards autumn, the transition to a more comfortable and relaxed lifestyle can be easy.

So, FASHION HEADLINE has set a goal: "Get ahead of the curve in the autumn appetite." This issue of "Beauty Method" focuses on "self-body massage" for each individual body part. We asked Mai Yoshida, beauty advisor at the Isetan Shinjuku store of Paris-based total beauty brand MARY COHR, about care you can start making a habit of now.

The recommended times for massage are twice a day, morning and night. If you don't have time, just do it in the evening. Try it after a bath, when your body is warm and easier to stretch.

Of all the parts of the body, many women struggle with leg swelling and cellulite. For those, we recommend a thorough self-massage that covers everything from the ankles to the thighs.

Self-Leg Massage

[STEP 1]
Lightly press the center of both ankles with your thumbs. Lymph tends to stagnate in the extremities, so do so gently in a circular motion. (3 times)

[STEP 2]
Lightly press the base of your legs with the thumbs of both hands to stimulate and loosen them up. (3 times)

[STEP 3]
Slide the top of your foot toward your knee using your four toes. Be sure to use your joints firmly. (5 to 10 times)

[STEP 4]
Make a ring with your hands and slide them toward the back of your knees. By holding your fingers upright and stimulating your calves, you can promote circulation throughout your body. (Repeat this 5 to 10 times.)

Note: Holding your fingers upright like this will ensure proper stimulation.

[STEP5]
Make a ring with both hands and massage from your knees to the base of your legs. Be careful above the knees, where fat tends to accumulate. (5 to 10 times)

[STEP6]
Make a triangle with both hands and pinch your inner thighs, squeezing the fat out to loosen it. (Three times per area)
