Summer is almost over. As the heat gradually subsides and autumn approaches, it's easy to relax and let your guard down during this transitional season.
So, FASHION HEADLINE has set a goal: "Get ahead of the curve in the autumn appetite." This time, the theme of "Beauty Method" is "self-body massage" for each part of your body. We spoke to Mai Yoshida, beauty advisor at the Isetan Shinjuku store of Paris-based total beauty brand MARY COHR, about care you can start making a habit of now.
The recommended times to massage are twice a day, in the morning and at night. If you don't have time, just do it in the evening. Try it after a bath, when your body is warm and easier to stretch.
Let's start with the upper arms, a part of your body that we tend to neglect.
Self-Massage for Upper Arms
[STEP 1]
Lightly press the area above your collarbone with four fingers. Use just enough pressure to feel comfortable. (3 times)

[STEP 2]
Place your fist under your armpit and stimulate it. Imagine pressing your knuckles under your armpit. (3 times)

[STEP 3]
Make your hands into a ring shape, place them under your elbows, and move them down towards your armpits. The trick is to press your palms together and squeeze the fat out as you move it. (5 to 10 times)

It's apparently best to apply body serum or cream while doing self-massage. Yoshida recommends the following two.

Left) Pure Mansour Rapido (Body Serum) 200ml 9,000 yen
A body serum in a melting gel form. Recommended for use on thighs and hips, it quickly penetrates and leaves skin feeling refreshed and smooth. The refreshing scent of menthol is also perfect for summer.
Right) Multi-Cell Mansour (Body Serum Cream) 150ml 7,500 yen
12 carefully selected ingredients will lead to beautiful body skin with each use. Massage into your upper arms and stomach, rubbing into problem areas twice a day, morning and night.
