
Actress and singer Lindsay Lohan was born on July 2, 1986, in New York. She began appearing in commercials as a child actress at age three and made her television debut at age nine. Her screen debut in the 1998 film "The Familiar," where she received acclaim for her outstanding acting, focused on her studies for a time, but her 2003 film "The Fortune Cookie" became a huge hit, grossing over $100 million at the US box office, and she quickly became a teen idol.
