Fashion designer Tae Ashida was born on July 3, 1964, in Tokyo. She is the designer of her own fashion brands, "MISS ASHIDA" and "TAE ASHIDA."
The second daughter of fashion designer Jun Ashida, she graduated from Le Rosay High School in Switzerland and enrolled at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States. While there, she trained at Jean Padou, where Christian Lacroix was a designer, and Nicole Miller. She graduated from the university's Apparel Design Department with a Bachelor of Arts in 1987.
She joined Jun Ashida in 1988 and presented the first Miss Ashida collection in 1991. From that year, she began participating in Tokyo Fashion Week and had serials in magazines such as "Vintage" and "Classy." Since 1993, he has designed soccer uniforms, girls' high school uniforms, uniforms for the Imperial Hotel, and costumes for Tokyo Disney Resort.

In 2005, he became a regular commentator on Nippon Television's "The Wide," and in 2007, he became a visiting professor at Japan Women's University, becoming active in a variety of fields. In 2010, he designed the onboard clothing for astronaut Yamazaki Naoko, with whom he had been acquainted.

Miss Ashida has many popular Japanese actresses as clients, and is also famous for the wedding dresses worn by Fujiwara Norika and Mizuno Maki. Meanwhile, Tae Ashida, which emphasizes fashion, was launched in Spring/Summer 2013 and won a special award at the Japan Fashion Editors Club Awards that same year.
