Jul 3, 2013
H2O Retailing announced its June sales figures. Sales at the Hankyu Main Store increased 69.9% year-on-year. Sales at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store increased 82.4%, and sales at Hankyu Men's Osaka increased 16.8%. This marks the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year increases at the Hankyu Main Store. This is the third time this quarter that sales have increased by 60% or more, following March and May. Meanwhile, sales at the Hanshin Main Store decreased 4.1%. While sales were down 19.6% in April and 16% in May, a recovery trend became clear in June as summer clothing sales began to pick up. Total branch sales increased 6.9%, marking a long-awaited increase, following the previous month's continued declines compared to the previous year. While the Hankyu Umeda Main Store, which had its grand opening in November last year, remains the driving force, the strong sales have spread to the Hanshin Main Store and each branch, and are now showing up in the figures.

As a result, the Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores' overall total recorded a 24% increase compared to the previous year. This is also the eighth consecutive month of growth, and the figures are up nearly 10% from the previous month. An overview will be announced on the 16th of this month.
