
Rizzoli, an art book publisher, is releasing a photo book of soccer player Lionel Messi, photographed by Dolce & Gabbana designer Domenico Dolce. Messi, a former forward for FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team, is one of the world's best soccer players, having won the Ballon d'Or award for Europe's best player four years in a row. He's also wearing the brand's collection in the book. The book will be available at the brand's boutiques worldwide from the end of June and will be released in Japan on July 10th. The price is ¥23,415. Additionally, boutiques will carry T-shirts featuring selected images from the book (seven designs, ¥29,400 each) and a 2014 calendar featuring 42 shots (¥4,200). Dolce has previously photographed the brand's advertising campaigns himself, and in 2012 published a photo book, "Campioni," featuring 67 young Italian soccer players. Proceeds from sales of the photo book, T-shirts and calendar will be donated to the Leo Messi Foundation, which Messi founded in 2007 to support underprivileged children and young people.
