Dolce & Gabbana presented their Spring/Summer 2014 men's collection at Milan Fashion Week on June 22nd. The theme was "Mythical Sicily." Inspired by Sicilian mythology, the collection featured prints of oversized tops and pants, including images of ancient Greek temples, Zeus (the god of creation and omnipotence), Apollo (the sun god), and antique coins. The color palette, based on white, beige, brown, and black, evoked a nostalgic feel. The tailored style consisted primarily of slim-fitting double-breasted suits. Fabrics included stretch linen and silk, with some pieces in vibrant shantung. The footwear featured shoes made from braided leather and raffia. Leather lace-up sandals evoked the costumes of legendary gods.
Following on from SS13 and AW13-14, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana once again used ordinary Sicilian men personally selected as models. The soundtrack is the theme from the film "Cinema Paradiso" directed by Giuseppe Tornatore.
