MARNI's Spring/Summer 2014 men's collection offers styles incorporating functional details.
Work coats, capes, and tailored jackets feature large, square pockets made from folded fabric. Long hoodies and blousons also feature silver zippers. Aprons layered over shorts are fastened with snap buttons.
Tailored styles feature simple three- or single-button designs. Sleeveless blazers can be worn like vests or combined with shirts and knitwear to create raglan-sleeved jackets.
Shirts and T-shirts feature large, randomly placed polka dots and floral and animal illustrations by illustrator and typography artist Katja Schwalenberg.
The color palette is blue, white, cream, and black with accents of yellow and green. Materials chosen for the collection are light and dry, including washed cotton gabardine, denim, linen, parachute cotton, and quilting.
The shoes and short boots have a round shape with no decoration like rain boots, and the sandals also have a minimalist design. Like the clothing, the backpacks also feature large pockets.
