Musician Beck Hansen was born on July 8, 1970, in Los Angeles, USA. After dropping out of high school, he began playing guitar and based his career in New York, but his career didn't pan out, so he returned to his hometown of Los Angeles. In 1993, he released the 12-inch "Loser," which was aired on alternative music radio and gained recognition. He then received offers from several record companies, eventually signing with DGC Records. His major label debut album, "Mellow Gold," and the single "Loser" were huge hits. His popularity was solidified with the release of his 1996 album, "Odelay," and he has continued to receive critical acclaim for his music, which incorporates a wide range of genres, including blues, country, folk, and jazz, as well as dance music and hip-hop. His 2007 single, "Timebomb," was nominated for a Grammy Award.
He has also been a long-time friend of Hedi Slimane, the creative director of SAINT LAURENT, and was chosen as a model for the SS13 campaign advertisement. An image film was also made, featuring advertising visuals with Beck's "PAPER TIGER" as background music.
