Illustrator Yutanpo Shirane's solo exhibition, "YUROOM GIRLS SHOW," will be held at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama. It runs through August 7th. This exhibition, Shirane's first at the gallery in two years, marks the first full-scale showing of his drawing-based series. The exhibition primarily focuses on the women depicted as motifs in his "BLUE ZINE" zine series, which he has been publishing for several years. Approximately 30 works, including original acrylic paintings and inkjet print reproductions, will be on display and for sale. In addition, a new zine will be available for purchase at the venue, along with related items such as T-shirts and stickers. A gallery talk will be held on the first day, the 19th, at 6:30 PM, where the artist will personally explain his work. Shirane was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1968. After graduating from the Graphic Studies Department of Kuwasawa Design School, he worked as a freelance illustrator for magazines, websites, and advertisements. Recent works include the cover of "Business Model Generation" (Shoeisha), posters for Tokyo Metro, "Yahoo! App Encyclopedia" (Yahoo! Japan), and the cover of "BCN Ranking Magazine."
