Premiere Vision to be held in September, featuring a young Finnish designer who won the Yale International Festival

Jul 9, 2013
Ahead of the 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter season, the international fabrics trade fair, "Première Vision Pluriel," will be held in Paris from September 17th to 19th. A total of 766 companies will participate, including 26 newcomers. This marks a 3% increase from last September's event, with 32 companies from Japan participating.

To improve visitor efficiency, the venue has been reorganized this year. A common entry badge will be introduced for the other exhibitions taking place at the same time in the same venue: Expofil (textiles), Le Cuir à Paris (leather), Indigo (textile design), Mode Amon (clothing materials), and Zoom by Fatex (apparel OEM). To help visitors find the right genre among the many exhibits, three new areas have been added: "Tops & Shirts Forum" and "Outerwear & Overwear Forum," "Evening Focus" featuring dress items, "Tech Focus" featuring sports and outdoor wear, and "Knitwear Focus."

The jury for the Premiere Vision Award, which was first awarded in 2009 and is now in its fifth year, is chaired by Alessandro Sartori, artistic director of Berluti. Sartori will announce the winners at a forum at the venue at noon on the 19th.

The exhibition will also feature works by Finnish designer Satu Maaranen, winner of the 28th Yale International Fashion and Photography Festival held in April. In his land art-inspired women's collection, "Garment in Landscape," Maaranen uses natural materials to reconsider the relationship between nature and clothing, and fashion and landscape. He plans to exhibit at the same exhibition in New York and Paris. Première Vision has been supporting the Yale International Fashion Festival since 2011, and this year it acted as a bridge between the 10 finalists and the exhibitors who offered to provide fabrics. Starting this year, the festival has been serving as Première Vision's main partner.
