Sarah Jessica Parker collaborates with Manolo Blahnik on "SJP" shoe and bag collection, launching in January

Jul 8, 2013

The hit TV drama "Sex and the City" made Sarah Jessica Parker a household name. She played shoe-obsessed Carrie Bradshaw, who professes to have "spent over $40,000 on shoes," and is now making her debut as a shoe designer. When announcing the project, Sarah commented, "I wore a lot of shoes while filming the show and learned a lot. It might sound a little silly, but I think everyone is eagerly waiting for me to design shoes as Carrie." The collection, called "SJP," is a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, one of Carrie's favorite brands, and includes not only a shoe line of sandals and pumps, but also bags inspired by designs from the 1970s and 1980s, as well as several trench coats. The "SJP" collection is priced relatively reasonably compared to the high-end brand items featured in the drama, with the shoe line priced at $200 to $300 (approximately ¥20,000 to ¥30,000) and the bags at around $700 (approximately ¥70,000). The collection will be available exclusively at major department store Nordstrom stores across the US from January 2014.
