Dior Homme's Spring/Summer 2014 collection was unveiled in Paris. Creative Director Kris Van Assche explored the opposing themes of "minimalism" and "baroque." The show invitation quoted the words of British poet Thomas Campion, "The sun must have his shade." The color palette began with brown, then blue, and finally black. The patchwork, inspired by the work of John Chamberlain, known for his sculptures using discarded automobiles, and the architecture of Miami's Art Deco district, featured geometric motifs. Metallic accents accentuated the contrasting textures of different materials. Each piece mixed a formal tuxedo style with beachwear elements, and was offered in a variety of colors and silhouettes. Jackets featured narrow lapels, three-button construction, flybacks, double-breasted styles, and sleeveless styles. The bottoms featured center pleats and came in three lengths: standard, medium, and above-the-knee.

Another distinctive feature of this collection is the use of formal materials in sportswear, such as silk satin coats and thin leather open-collar shirts and polo shirts.

The bags included square clutches and briefcases, and the toes and soles of the leather shoes were adorned with silver parts.
