Four photographers—Suzuki Risaku, Hanayo, Nomura Sakiko, and Hirasawa Kenji—have published works inspired by Raf Simons' Dior Spring/Summer 2013 collection in the photography magazine "IMA." The works will be exhibited at Dior's Ginza and Shinsaibashi boutiques from April 20 to May 16, and at the Dior boutique in Omotesando from May 17 to June 17. Suzuki, who won the Kimura Ihei Award in 2000 and is known for his work on his hometown of Kumano, photographs the iconic Lady Dior bag against snowy landscapes. Hanayo captures butterflies and dresses, Nomura focuses on couples wearing high heels, and Hirasawa uses a thermal camera to capture the curved silhouette of the house's iconic "Bar" jacket. Before becoming a couturier, Monsieur Christian Dior was a gallerist known for his close ties with artists, and he exhibited works by Dali and Picasso in his own gallery from the early days of his career. Even after opening the house, the brand has continued to release designs named after artists such as Henri Matisse and Georges Braque.

In addition, when the Dior Ginza store in Japan reopened in April last year, an exhibition was held featuring works based on Lady Dior by Japanese and international artists including David Lynch, Peter Lindbergh, Nawa Kohei, Azuma Makoto, and Miyanaga Aiko.

According to the company, Monsieur Dior's spirit has been carried on by his successors even after his death, and art is firmly ingrained in the house's DNA, so this collaboration was realized to demonstrate this.
