Salon Boutique, the direct store of "salon," a shoe brand created by designer Nobuko Sakai, will be reopening on August 2nd. The address is 2-19-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
The store has expanded to two floors. It will also feature chairs and lighting from Sakai's new interior brand, "Double Piping." Shoes from "A.PAIR," a classic line for career professionals, and exclusive items will be sold.
The brand was founded in 1999. Its design concept is a mix of opposing elements: "cute bad taste," "nostalgia within modernity," and "a casual feel within a sense of weight." The newly renovated Salon Boutique opened in September 2005.
This fall's new collection features classic, mannish designs inspired by the 1950s, while the winter collection will feature shoes with pop designs inspired by the 1980s.
