Free People exclusive shop opens at Shinjuku Isetan. Midsummer resort style suggestions.

Jul 12, 2013

FREE PEOPLE, a casual wear brand developed domestically by WORLD, is opening a limited-time shop called "THE FESTIVAL SHOP" on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store until the 16th.

The theme is "Midsummer Resort Style," and the shop offers travel-inspired looks from daytime casual to dinnertime. Items exclusive to the Isetan Shinjuku store will also be available, including a white and orange maxi-length colorblock skirt (¥26,250) and a Mustang T-shirt with a horse illustration (¥10,290).

FREE PEOPLE was founded in the 1970s as an original line of the US brand URBAN OUTFITTERS. It offers a trendy style with a bohemian touch through fashion, art, music, and travel. Targeting women in their 20s and 30s who live freely, the brand has a large fanbase among international celebrities. With showrooms in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, its brand is sold in over 1,200 boutiques worldwide. The first directly managed store opened in New Jersey in 2002, and the website opened in 2004. This year, the company partnered with World and made its full-scale debut in Japan.
