
American casual fashion brand GAP will release a limited edition T-shirt (4,900 yen) featuring the cover of Jimi Hendrix's album "People, Hell and Angels," released to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his birth. Available in two colors, white and gray, it will go on sale from March 20th. "People, Hell and Angels," released on March 5th, collects unreleased recordings from 1969, the same year GAP was founded in San Francisco, USA. Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle in 1942. His talent was discovered by bassist Chas Chandler, and he moved to England and made his debut in 1966 with the band "The Jimi Hendrix Experience." He achieved success in the UK with the single "Hey Joe" and the album "Are You Experienced?". He became a world-famous musician when he performed "Wild Thing" with his guitar blazing at an outdoor rock festival in Monterey, California in 1967. He rose to the top of the music scene in the four years before his untimely death at the age of 27, and influenced many artists.
