Minnetonka has collaborated with Los Angeles-based apparel brand WREN for the second time, following their collaboration in the fall/winter season last year. The collaboration came about because WREN's designer, Melissa Coker, has been a fan of Minnetonka moccasins since childhood.
The collaborative moccasin shoes (priced at 14,175 yen), which will be sold in limited quantities worldwide, are based on Minnetonka's iconic Thunderbird moccasin shoes, which were released in 1960, and feature soft deerskin instead of the usual suede, leather lining, and metallic beading. Available in five colors: champagne, natural, mocha, caramel, and black.
From early August, the brand will be available at Minnetonka stores such as the Omotesando Harajuku store and Lumine Est Shinjuku, in the shoe sections of department stores such as Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda, and in select shops such as AMERICAN RAGCIE and JOURNAL STANDARD RELUME.
Minnetonka was founded in Minnesota in 1946, and its moccasins became popular across the United States in the 1960s. It now operates across six continents, including New York, London, and Tokyo, and sells handmade products made from the highest quality suede, deerskin, and moosehide. Celebrities such as Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan are fans of the brand.
