Loyalty Marketing, operator of the Ponta point service, has launched an online-to-offline (O2O) service in collaboration with Twitter Japan. Ponta members can earn Ponta points redeemable at physical stores simply by tweeting on Twitter. By tweeting with specific hashtags for each campaign, campaign information spreads and campaign entries are simultaneously made possible. Ponta partner companies can utilize Ponta points to promote their campaigns by disseminating campaign information they want to reach consumers. Currently, travel agency H.I.S. and Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan have agreed to participate. Ponta, which launched in March 2010, has grown to become one of Japan's largest online services with approximately 55 million members in just three years. The service is now available at approximately 21,900 physical stores across 89 brands nationwide. Going forward, the company aims to offer a lifestyle-focused service concept called "B2O2O (Broadcast to Online to Online)" that can be used anywhere, from home to the city.
