British actor Daniel Radcliffe was born on July 23, 1989, in London.
He made his acting debut in 1999, playing the lead character David's childhood in the BBC drama "David Copperfield." At the age of 11, he auditioned for "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," a film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's best-selling novel, and was selected from over 3,000 candidates to play the lead role of Harry Potter. The film's huge success catapulted him to stardom, and he went on to play the lead role in all eight films in the series over the course of 10 years. The series' continued success led to frequent discussions about his high salary, and he, along with other actors such as Emma Watson, regularly appears on magazine and newspaper rankings of the highest-paid actors.
Since filming "Harry Potter," he has actively appeared in other stage and TV productions, earning acclaim for his acting skills. He is currently appearing in a comedy stage production in London, and his new film, "Kill Your Darlings," is due to be released soon.
The "Harry Potter Exhibition" is currently being held at the Roppongi Hills Mori Arts Center Gallery. The world of the films has been faithfully recreated, and exclusive merchandise exclusive to the exhibition is also on sale.
