Yves Saint Laurent Beaute has announced a new nude-colored series, "REBEL NUDES" (3,990 yen), for its smash-hit lipstick, Rouge Pur Couture Vernis. It will be available on September 20th. Since its launch in Japan in February 2012, Rouge Pur Couture Vernis has been selected as a best-selling cosmetic by fashion and mode magazines both in Japan and overseas. It has become a best-selling item, with one bottle sold every 20 seconds worldwide. Its popularity is due to the nail polish-like gloss achieved by its blend of "ethylcellulose." This time, the new formula further enhances the shine with the addition of the proprietary 3D pearl pigment "Euphotic Color Light." The high moisture content and moisturizing effect make it easy to apply directly, and the nuance changes with repeated application. "Its color won't fade even when you eat or drink, making it perfect for girls' nights and parties," says Tajiri Kozue, the brand's CRM & Digital Marketing Manager. The new colors are based on the concept of "colors that bring out and enhance the natural beauty of lips," and feature a lineup of eight nude colors, ranging from pearlescent colors to fuchsia pinks with a bluish tint. Advertising model Carla Delevingne uses the translucent colors 103 and 104. Makeup creative director Lloyd Simmonds says, "My favorite is number 105, which is a nude color with a hint of non-nude. It's soft yet intense, and to me it's an attractive color that symbolizes level nude."
