Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer expands its selection of sport-specific, in-house developed apps with the launch of the new TAG Heuer Connected Sports app for swimmers and runners.

The TAG Heuer Connected's multi-sport app now supports swimming, joining running, cycling, walking, fitness and golf. With a sleek design and advanced functionality, the TAG Heuer Connected is designed to track your performance and training in the water, but is also elegant "onshore," making it suitable for use both in and out of the pool.

New features in the TAG Heuer Sports app allow swimmers to measure and track their performance in the pool using their TAG Heuer Connected. Metrics like completed laps, total distance, and interval breakdowns are available on the watch's touchscreen face. More detailed information, including calories burned, stroke and pace analysis, and an overall session summary, is available on the smartphone.

The most advanced data provided by the app is the SWOLF score. The SWOLF score is a key performance indicator calculated by adding the number of seconds and strokes taken to swim 25 or 50 meters. This score indicates a swimmer's lap efficiency and serves as a strategic benchmark for continuous improvement. A lower score indicates a higher quality pool session.

The Swimming app also features automatic lap detection, which uses the watch's accelerometer and gyroscope with a proprietary algorithm to detect the start and end of each lap and calculate the session's total distance. While swimming, an always-on screen displays elapsed time, completed laps, total distance, and interval breakdowns.

And to provide a smoother, more refined experience, TAG Heuer developed a custom algorithm to detect swim type for each lap. TAG Heuer Connected can distinguish between four different strokes and styles: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly. Swim type for each interval can be viewed in a detailed breakdown of the swimmer's session on their mobile device.

For swimmers looking for advanced analysis of their performance, TAG Heuer Connected monitors pace, strokes, and intervals for each session.

"Pace" is a measurement of the time it takes to swim a set distance of 100 meters. The pace graph in the app shows the evolution of this metric.

"Strokes" uses the watch's gyroscope to count swim cycles and, thanks to a dedicated algorithm, can also display the number of strokes per lap. This new feature provides valuable feedback after each lap, allowing swimmers to understand and improve their performance during their session.

Finally, the "Intervals" feature is very useful for users who want to combine, increase, or combine different activities during their session, as intervals are automatically created when the swimmer resumes their session from a break.

To complement the new swimming experience, TAG Heuer is updating its existing Running app with exciting new features for indoor running.

This new version allows indoor runners to see at a glance which heart rate zone they are in. At the end of a session, the watch automatically calculates your pace by entering the total distance logged on the treadmill.

This update also features a dedicated heart rate screen, specially designed and developed for runners who prioritize heart rate during sports. Simply check the watch to see your heart rate zone and the percentage of your maximum heart rate. Runners can adjust the intensity of their training according to their cardiovascular goals with five zone levels, ranging from warm-up (Zone 1) to peak (Zone 5).

After a run, the app on your mobile device provides detailed analysis, displaying a color-coded heart rate graph and time spent in each zone. In addition to running, the heart rate tracker can be used for any type of aerobic activity, indoors or outdoors.

The TAG Heuer Sport app can update automatically overnight over Wi-Fi, or manually by visiting the Google Play Store on your watch, tapping "My Apps," and installing available updates. This smartwatch is both a stylish and versatile accessory designed by TAG Heuer, and a reliable tool for measuring your performance.

A stylish and versatile accessory designed with the TAG Heuer identity.
