Aiming to provide the best customer experience both online and offline in the new normal era, Isetan Mitsukoshi is launching "Match Palette," a matching service for finding what suits you, at its women's clothing store in Shinjuku.


This is the first time that Wacoal Corporation's 3D body scanning technology (*1) has been used in a department store for women's clothing. This free service measures the entire body in five seconds. Based on the visualized body data, professional stylists (sales staff) can suggest styling that "matches" each customer.

This reduces the "worry time" and "shopping time" typically associated with shopping, and enables customers to enjoy a new shopping style by being able to suggest the optimal style to suit their needs from a selection of approximately 10,000 types of clothing from approximately 50 brands.

What is the new shopping experience provided by "Match Palette"?

This time, in collaboration with Wacoal's "3D smart&try," we have utilized the latest "digital measurement" technology to create an original customization service that uses "3D measurement" and an "Isetan stylist" to match body types with clothing, a first for women's clothing at a department store. Based on the measurement results, Mitsukoshi Isetan's proud "human power" matching ability will be used to provide a shopping experience that suits the customer's convenience (time).

1. Measurement


A simple 3D body scan measurement takes about 5 seconds in a measurement booth (approximately 5.4 square meters) set up inside the Isetan Personal Lab.
Measurement points are measured at 18 points on the body (top bust, waist, thighs, etc.), and body thickness, top (bust to waist) width, and bottom (lower body width) are measured on a 5-point scale.

2. Diagnose type characteristics from body shape data


Using a tablet, body shape data such as top taper, bottom taper, and body oval is presented. The stylist (sales staff) will classify your body type to determine what suits you best. Measurement results can be printed out and given to you.

Body shape and thickness when viewed from the front are calculated to classify you into approximately 27 different body types based on three pieces of data: top taper, bottom taper, and body oval. *Subject to change or revision in the future

3. Consulting customer service by Isetan Personal Lab stylists (sales staff)
Based on your body type, professional stylists (sales staff) will provide advice on specific brands and items that will suit you, as well as suggest styling ideas from around 50 brands that will suit you.
