Starting June 9th, the new collection Mame Kurogouchi Basics, which was announced by Mame Kurogouchi, will be available in advance at the Isetan Mitsukoshi online store and Isetan Shinjuku store. The collection is a deep pursuit of "timelessness" and is expressed using the finest materials with a simple design that has been stripped down to the bare essentials and a new concept.
Mame Kurogouchi Basics will not be seasonal, and the lineup will be expanded by adding items at the optimal time, with the plan being to sell them permanently as staple items throughout the year.
The first release, "Collection 01," consists of 8 items, all in black, and is a wardrobe made of silk.
The first piece in the collection, "Collection 01," took over three years to complete, from selecting materials to creating the main pattern. It was designed to be timeless, truly timeless, and a new lifestyle basic.
We wanted to make silk, a material often used in the main collection, more accessible to everyone, so we crafted all of the pieces in black silk. To maximize the durability and rich texture of silk, which allows for everyday wear, we selected the most suitable sewing thread and needle. We then produced numerous samples, made minute pattern adjustments, and inspected the products repeatedly, resulting in comfortable, versatile pieces, from relaxed blouses to close-fitting knitwear. The woven fabric items are woven in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and a special surface treatment is applied in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, making them easy to care for at home.
