The Japan Fashion Week Organization has announced the participating brands for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2013-14 A/W, which will be held from March 17th (Sun) to 23rd (Sat). This season, 50 brands are scheduled to show, including 11 brands participating for the first time. Special programs will include VIVIENNE TAM and German designer Conny Groenewegen, who has been selected as a Mercedes-Benz sponsored designer. Also making an appearance are GUT'S DYNAMITE CABARETS and HAN AHN SOON, who will be returning after several seasons away. Araisara, which announced it would not be participating in Paris Fashion Week but would instead hold its collection in Tokyo, will also be showcasing its latest collections. Somarta will also be presenting off-schedule, rather than on the official schedule. Furthermore, "VERSUS TOKYO," which opened its collection presentation to the public through ticket sales in October 2011, attracted 10,000 visitors, and garnered attention at Pitti Uomo in Florence in January of this year, will be held at Shibuya Hikarie on the final day, Saturday the 23rd, as an all-night event fusing fashion and music. As with the previous event, the event is organized by Yuichi Yoshii of The Contemporary Fix, and the first five participating brands are C.E, FACETASM, GANRYU, MR. GENTLEMAN, and PHENOMENON. Image visuals by Sk8ightthing, also known as Skateshin, have also been announced.
