The KCJ Group, which plans and operates KidZania, along with World and Isetan Mitsukoshi, have been collaborating since January to hold a fashion show showcasing the winning designs from the KidZania Tokyo Fashion Design Contest. The show will be held on August 3rd at 1:00 PM in the central hall on the first floor of the main building of the Mitsukoshi Nihombashi Main Store.
The project solicited design drawings from children on the theme of "clothes they would wear to a party." Thirty designs were selected, and students from the Apparel Technology Department of Bunka Fashion College created patterns and created costumes from them. Thirty child models were recruited from the Mitsukoshi Nihombashi Main Store and the Isetan Shinjuku Store to wear the designs. An awards ceremony for the 30 winning designs will also be held at the same venue.
In addition, all 259 design drawings submitted to the contest will be exhibited in the baby and children's clothing department on the sixth floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Store for six days from August 14th to 19th. The 30 winning works will be exhibited at the World Minami Aoyama Building in August, and will also be used as costumes in a fashion show at KidZania Tokyo in mid-September.
