Isetan Mitsukoshi's three-week delayed sales are going well in Shinjuku, Nihonbashi, and Ginza

Jul 18, 2013

Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings launched its latest summer sale of any department store on July 17th. This marks the third time the company has delayed its sale, following last summer.

Sales at Isetan Shinjuku and Ginza Mitsukoshi exceeded those of the previous year (July 13th). While sales at Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store were on par with last year, clearance sales were booming. "Awareness of the delayed sale is growing, and we saw many customers eagerly awaiting the first day. Women's accessories and items for both men and women are selling well at each store. Women's accessories such as bags, shoes, and scarves are particularly popular," said a company spokesperson.

Isetan Shinjuku, hosting its first sale since its grand opening in March, opened 15 minutes early, with long lines forming at the entrances to the main building and the men's building. "We've heard from the store staff that there has been an increase in new customers since the remodeling," said the same person. In the main building, the women's clothing departments on the 2nd to 4th floors, the event sales area on the 6th floor, and in the men's building, the creators' floor on the 2nd floor were particularly crowded.

The dates for the sales in the new year and next summer have not yet been decided.
