The rainy season is finally over, and summer is in full swing! This marks the start of delicious beer season, so this week's feature on beer gardens is something we've all been waiting for!
■ Yayoi Kusama's Polka Dot Beer Garden opens at Roppongi Hills!
Location: 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo
Hours: Weekdays from 5 PM to 10 PM (Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM)
The Polka Dot Garden (O-Yane Plaza), a beer garden based on the polka dots that appear in the artwork of contemporary artist Kusama, and the Polka Dot Terrace, a standing bar, will be open for a limited time at 66 Plaza, the gateway to Roppongi Hills. The menu features approximately 30 types of colorful Italian food, as well as exclusive sweets and cocktails. There will also be a variety of events, including limited-edition sales of Kusama-designed polka dot glasses and live music on weekends.
■ Matsuya Ginza's "Beauty Beer Garden for Women"
Location: Matsuya Ginza Rooftop, 3-6-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
Hours: Weekdays from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 3:00 PM)
"BBQ Terrace (Beer & BBQ & Bar terrace@888)" is a beer garden aimed at mature women. The main menu, "Vegetable Set Menu" (4,500 yen), is a great value, featuring early summer vegetable bagna cauda, barbecue, vegetable bread, fried chicken, and two hours of free drinks. Other menu items include "Ginza Honey Fluffy Ice Sundae (1,200 yen)" and "Ginza Honey Honey Cocktail" (from 800 yen), which are sure to please women.
■Six types of craft beer now available! Omohara Beer Forest
Location: Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku 6th floor rooftop terrace, 4-30-3 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
Hours: Weekdays from 5pm to 9pm (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 12pm)
With the support of the Japan Craft Beer Association, you can enjoy six types of craft beer from long-established craft beer maker Sankt Gallen, including fruity beers that are easy for women to drink, for just 500 yen per glass. There are also craft beers exclusive to Omohara Beer Forest that can only be drunk here, as well as dessert beers such as beer punch and beer floats that can be enjoyed like dessert.
■ Shinagawa Atre's Gorgeous Modern Mexican Restaurant Becomes a Terrace Bar
Location: Atre Shinagawa, 4th Floor, 2-18-1 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo
Hours: 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM
El Caliente -Modern Mexicano-, a Mexican restaurant operated by HUGE, has opened a terrace bar! The menu includes Mexican beer, frozen margaritas, mojitos, and other cocktails (starting at 500 yen), as well as classic Mexican dishes like guacamole and tacos, salads, steaks, and more. Standing seating is also available.
■ Lumine Est Shinjuku's Sparkling Beer Garden for Women
Location: Lumine Est Shinjuku Rooftop, 3-38-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo
Hours: 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM
The restaurant is decorated in a glittering style to target female customers. The menu features "Gyusamtorigyeopsal," meat wrapped in aromatic vegetables, as the main dish, and includes a la carte dishes such as edamame, french fries, and shaved ice, as well as a set menu with over 35 types of free drinks, including draft beer, fruity ice wine, fruit cocktails, and sours. There will also be events such as DJ sets, live music, and dance performances, mainly featuring female artists.
