The dress code is all white! The secret French party "Dinée en Blanc" arrives in Japan for the first time

Oct 2, 2015

The secret French dinner party "Diner en Blanc" will make its Japan debut on October 3rd in Tokyo. Participants will be informed only of a meeting place and then guided to a secret venue.

"Diné en Blanc" first became popular about 25 years ago, when a French man and his friends started a dinner party. At the time, the number of people interested in attending the party was so high that the venue was set in the Bois de Boulogne. Participants wore white clothing to easily distinguish themselves, leading to an all-white dress code, including shoes and accessories.

Three years later, when the party was to be held on the Pont des Arts Bridge, local authorities refused to grant permission for such an event, so the venue was kept secret until the day of the party. This led to the party's worldwide spread as a secret venue whose venue remains a mystery until the day itself.

On the day of the party, participants brought everything they needed for dinner to a venue designed to resemble an elegant picnic. It is a new style of party in which he himself is in charge of everything from food direction to table coordination.
