Artist Rima Fujita's new painting exhibition, "Maya: Fantasy and Magic," will be held at the art gallery on the fifth floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku department store from October 28th to November 3rd. Rima Fujita is an American-based artist who holds solo exhibitions mainly in New York and Tokyo. In 2001, she founded "Books for Children," an organization that creates and distributes picture books to children in impoverished countries. "Maya," the word used in this exhibition, "Maya: Fantasy and Magic," comes from Sanskrit, meaning "magic" or "fantasy." This exhibition allows visitors to fully experience the "Maya" created by Rima Fujita, who believes in the magical power of "compassion for others" that resides in the hearts of all human beings. Rima Fujita will be present in person every day from 2:00 PM during the exhibition period. There will be an autograph session from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm on October 31st, and a slide talk and autograph session from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on November 1st and 3rd.
