Overcome your child's dislike of vegetables! A limited-time cafe opens in Toyosu, perfect for new moms

Oct 6, 2015

The popular cafe "CAFE;HAUS" in Toyosu, Tokyo, will open as the "Le Creuset Cafe" for a limited time from October 6th to 16th to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Le Creuset, the kitchenware manufacturer. The "Le Creuset Cafe" will serve six colorful soups made with vegetable stock made in Le Creuset's cast iron enamelware to help children overcome their dislike of vegetables. Additionally, cooking classes (participation fee: 1,000 yen) for parents and children aged 3 to 5 will be held on the 10th, 8th, 9th, 14th, and 15th. Under the guidance of home economist Noriko Kawasaki, participants will make pumpkin cream stew, vegetable rice, and fried pumpkin bread decorations. On October 7th, there will be a lunch event called "Mom's Frustration Relief Meal Party" (3,500 yen) for expectant mothers and mothers who have recently given birth for the first time. There will also be a consultation session where participants can discuss their concerns and worries about childcare with Junko Ueda, a cooking expert who designs baby food menus, and Kaori Sekigawa, an editor who works on parenting and pregnancy magazines.
