Amazon launches new project "Amazon Beauty Lab." for busy women

On October 6th, the comprehensive online retailer Amazon (Amazon.co.jp) launched "Amazon Beauty Lab.", a project to propose and communicate "how to find beauty" to busy women at "Amazon Beauty Store," Japan's largest online beauty store.

The "Amazon Beauty Store," which opened in June this year, is an online beauty store offering over 100,000 products from over 4,000 brands, ranging from daily use to luxury items. Starting October 1st, the store also began carrying Maybelline New York and, for the first time in Japan, Jurlique.

The "Amazon Beauty Lab." project at the store was launched for busy women who tend to give up on "beauty" because they don't have the time to leisurely shop for beauty items. Model Yui Kanno, a regular Amazon Beauty Store user, will serve as the site's director, and together with beauty specialists including cosmetics concierge Sayaka Konishi, they will share a variety of beauty information.

Yui Kanno will share tips on how to use the Amazon Beauty Store that only a regular Amazon Beauty Store user would know, while Sayaka Konishi will introduce "how to choose the right cosmetics," which is especially important when shopping online. The site is also packed with information that busy women will appreciate, such as introductions to beauty products tailored to seasonal concerns, popular product rankings, and time-saving beauty techniques.
