Amazon.co.jp launches CD buying service

Jul 25, 2013

On the 24th, major online retailer Amazon (Amazon.co.jp) launched a service to buy used CDs. The service covers approximately 55,000 items listed on Amazon's dedicated buyback page. Starting from one item, they will buy.

The buyback price is displayed on the product page, and there is no charge for collection or delivery if the item cannot be bought. The buyback price is paid in the form of an Amazon gift certificate and reflected in the user's account.

Amazon already buys DVDs/Blu-rays and video games, and has begun to handle the product lineup of Amazon Marketplace in-house. Attention is focused on whether they will also start buying used books.
