Cha Cha Matcha is the cafe that sparked the matcha boom in New York City, and its stylish design and unique original drinks are the secret to its popularity. High in antioxidants and healthy, matcha has become a part of New Yorkers' lives, and the cafe has maintained its popularity since opening its first store in New York in 2016. Currently, there are four locations in New York City and two in Los Angeles.

My favorite is a lavender drink with matcha added. It's a surprising combination for Japanese people accustomed to matcha, but I decided to give it a try and I've been hooked ever since. The balance of sweetness and bitterness is exquisite, and the lavender aroma really hits you later. It's a flavor somewhat similar to sakura mochi. According to the Cha Cha Matcha staff, "This is our most popular drink! Many people find out about it on Instagram and come for the lavender drink."

There are other unusual original menu items as well. This one contains blue algae. Blue algae is a rare type of algae that has a natural blue pigment, and is attracting attention as a superfood with high antioxidant properties. In addition to blue algae, this drink also contains collagen, making it recommended for those concerned about anti-aging.

The third item is matcha lemonade. This is like "lemonade with the bitter taste of matcha," and it's refreshing and delicious. It also has a subtle aroma of yuzu and mint, giving it a refreshing taste. It's the perfect drink for a hot day!



By the way, the matcha used in Cha Cha Matcha's menu is apparently imported from Uji, Japan. They are so particular that they brew the matcha and add it to the drink each time an order is taken.

In addition, you can choose from seven types of milk for your drinks, including not only cow's milk but also almond milk and hemp milk. With the number of vegan-minded people in the US increasing, the ability to select the type of milk is one of the reasons why this restaurant continues to be so popular.
