The 9th GINZA FASHION WEEK (GFW) will be held in Ginza, Tokyo from October 21st to November 3rd.
The event has been held twice a year since October 2011 with the aim of "invigorating Japan with fashion from the global GINZA." It will be jointly hosted by four stores: Matsuya Ginza, Mitsukoshi Ginza, Printemps Ginza, and, for the first time this year, Wako Ginza.
Matsuya Ginza will focus on materials that highlight Japanese techniques, Japanese designers, and Japanese manufacturing under the theme of "JAPAN POWER." The women's clothing section will propose fashion based on the theme of "Ginza White." The food and lifestyle section will focus on Iwate Prefecture, showcasing tableware and miscellaneous goods.
Mitsukoshi Ginza, with the theme of "JAPAN SENSES," will propose a careful and delicate manufacturing culture under the theme of "harmony and beauty." The event will focus on the Kinki region and introduce the various cultures of this ancient capital, including Kyoto's traditional performing arts, Kyoto braiding, and sake.

Printemps Ginza will offer comfortable, Japanese-made fashion under the theme "Made in Japan." It will hold a Kobe shoe fair that combines tradition and trend, and offer Japanese sweets made with matcha and yuzu.

Ginza Wako will feature exclusive Wako items under the theme "Wako Wa no Waza." Items on sale include bags, coats, stoles, and other items featuring high-quality materials crafted using Japan's climate and superior craftsmanship, as well as designs that combine tradition and evolution.

In addition, all four stores will be selling original charity tote bags (648 yen including tax) during the event. All proceeds will be donated to the Child Health Promotion Foundation, a general incorporated foundation that supports children in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
