"LaLaport" opens in Ebina, Kanagawa Prefecture! Small Takashimaya store also opens

Oct 28, 2015

Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. will open "Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Ebina," a regional shopping center directly connected to the station in Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on October 29th. The facility was fully unveiled at a preview for the press on the 27th.

The facility will be a new landmark in central Kanagawa Prefecture, directly connected to Ebina Station, which is served by three train lines: the Odakyu Odawara Line, the Sagami Railway Main Line, and the JR Sagami Line, via a new connecting deck. Based on the concept of "Feel Urban, Feel Community," the facility aims to be a new place for interaction that takes advantage of urban convenience. The four-story building will house 263 stores, with a target annual sales of 30 billion yen.

One of the facility's highlights is "TAKASHIMAYA Style Maison," a new fashion-focused satellite shop proposed by Takashimaya. This will be the third store of its kind, following "Takashimaya Food Maison" and "Million Doors Takashimaya Cosmetics." Based on the concept of a "casual store for everyday occasions," the store will be divided into three zones: "Apparel," "Gifts," and "Gathering." Targeting women in their 30s and 40s, the store will offer suggestions tailored to the local needs and the shopping center's environment, centered on the high-quality feel and collection of items that only a department store can offer. According to a Takashimaya representative, "Ebina is within the trade area of Yokohama Takashimaya, but we've expanded our product lineup to accommodate housewives who can't easily make it to Yokohama due to child-rearing, and office ladies heading home from work. We stock our main brands so that customers can quickly replenish their supplies, including cosmetics. We also specialize in gifts for middle-aged women, offering small gifts like handkerchiefs and sweets. We also offer gift catalogs at the service counter, and can accept orders for mid-year and year-end gifts. We aim for annual sales of 700 million yen." Additionally, Ivorish, a popular French toast specialty shop from Fukuoka that has customers lining up, will be opening its first store in Kanagawa Prefecture at LaLaport Ebina. The classic American-inspired interior is an open space, where customers can relax on large sofas and enjoy a relaxing cafe time. The menu offers both sweets and savory meals. The Ebina store also offers exclusive items, such as the popular Berry Deluxe French toast (regular 1,800 yen, half 1,200 yen), topped with plenty of berry fruits, as well as the Sweet Potato (regular 1,600 yen, half 1,000 yen), which combines French toast with sweet potato, and the American Sauce Gratin (one piece of French toast 1,550 yen, two pieces 1,800 yen), a set of French toast and a piping hot gratin packed with the delicious flavors of seafood such as shrimp and scallops. The takeout menu is extensive, and original items such as cutlery and aprons are also available for purchase, making them perfect for gifts. An Ivorish representative commented, "We change our menu every two weeks to encourage frequent visits. That's why we've created a free paper-style menu so customers can take it home and discuss with family and friends what they'd like to eat next time. Our takeout menu also makes a perfect gift, and we think it will be well-received by Ebina's many young customers." The central zone, "EBICEN," a first for the LaLaport brand, offers a new Ebina community space through a combination of spatial design, shops, and events. Located on the third and fourth floors, "EBICEN coasis" on the third floor is a fun space for parents and children. It features a central children's play area, surrounded by a children's clothing and toy shop, a cafe, and more.

Other attractions include the food court "EVVIVA!", where you can enjoy different atmospheres during the day and at dinnertime, and the food sales zone "EBINA Food Selection," which offers a diverse lineup of products including the popular supermarket "LOPIA," and proposes new dining styles, to meet all your food needs.
