Christmas at Marche ecute Kanda Manseibashi: Fantastic Forest Illuminations, Craft Market, and More

Oct 28, 2015

March ecute Kanda Manseibashi will be holding its Christmas campaign, "mAAch Christmas forest," from December 1st to 25th.

Starting early on November 18th, the winter-only illuminations that have been held every year since the store opened will be displayed. This year, the illuminations will be titled "Forest Illuminations" and will be decorated in pink and green, evoking the image of the forest path that stretches from Manseibashi Bridge to March ecute. For the first time this year, Manseibashi Bridge, which spans the Kanda River at the foot of March ecute, will also be decorated with illuminations. Similar illuminations will also be displayed on the open deck along the river, creating a fantastical landscape. The illuminations will be displayed from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sundays and holidays, and will run until Valentine's Day on February 14th. Starting December 1st, artists active at iichi, a marketplace where you can purchase handcrafted and handmade items directly from the makers, will decorate the North Corridor of Marche Écute with a "Christmas Forest" theme. During the same period, a limited-time event titled "iichi Craft Market ~gifts~" will also be held. Over 100 makers will gather in three periods during the event, offering a variety of thoughtfully crafted items that are perfect as gifts for loved ones. In addition, a workshop from Maker's Base, a shared workshop in Meguro, will appear inside Marche Écute Kanda Manseibashi during the event. Workshops will be held where you can experience crafting using professional equipment and tools, as well as custom orders where items will be processed on-site. In addition, the permanent shop will offer special Christmas-only products. Products exclusive to Marche ecute Kanda Manseibashi include "Traditional Stollen" (3,600 yen including tax), a simple version of "Stollen," a traditional Christmas cake from German-speaking countries, by Hofbäckerei Edegger Tax, and "Homemade Hot Sangria" (700 yen including tax), an alcoholic drink made with four types of fruit and six types of spices by Cafe & Japanese Sake N3331.
