Roppongi Hills to host media art festival featuring Perfume installations, teamLab, Towa Tei, and more

Jan 31, 2013

MEDIA AMBITION TOKYO, a technology art festival organized by the CG-ARTS Association, will be held at Roppongi Hills for three days starting on February 15th. This inaugural event will feature exhibitions and live performances across a wide range of genres, including media art, video, and music. At Roppongi Hills Arena, creative group Rhizomatiks will exhibit "Physicalizing Data by Rhizomatiks," an experiential installation based on the techno-pop idol group Perfume. Sky Gallery 1 on the 52nd floor of Mori Tower will screen the full version of TeamLab's animated work "Flower and Corpse: Exfoliation," which attempts a new way of perceiving space, for the first time in Japan. A live event (MAT LIVE) will be held at the Mado Lounge restaurant on the 52nd floor, starting at 8:00 PM on the 15th. DJ Towa Tei, Pierre Taki of Denki Groove, honeyee.com editor-in-chief Suzuki Tetsuya, and CG creator Harada Daizaburo will all be performing.

The event aims to create a new culture that transcends genres and categories, and to share with the world Japan's next vision, where technology and art coexist and prosper together in the city.
